Born - October 21, 1941, Willow Springs, Missouri.  Family moved to Memphis when Steve was 9 years old

  • Nicknamed "The Colonel"

  • Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 as a member of Booker T. and the MGs

  • Joined The Blues Brothers on a Saturday Night Live skit in 1978.

  • Ranked as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time (#39) by Rolling Stone Magazine

  • Co-wrote "Knock on Wood" with Eddie Floyd, "In the Midnight Hour" with Wilson Pickett and "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" with Otis Redding. 

  • A favorite guitarist of The Beatles
